Welcome to
We're proud to announce the additon of two more super staff members: Ashely Kuehn and Mackenzie Reetz! Both Ashley and Mackenzie have prior experience working at the Arizona Humane Society in Phoenix and we're lucky to have them come aboard. Please stop by and say "Hello" to them the next time you're in the neighborhood.
Sun Lakes Animal Clinic salutes the hard working folks at the Sun Lakes Sheriff's Posse and we're proud to have donated a set of five new AVID microchip scanners to this noble organization. Now each of the four posse patrol cars can carry a scanner while the fifth one is kept at the Sheriff's Posse headquarters in Sun Lakes. With these microchip ID scanners our Sheriff's posse volunteers can check lost pets for their microchip ID and return pets to their families. Click here to see the related articles from the Chandler Independent Newspaper. The way the Microchip Identification System works is the veterinarian injects a small microchip just under the skin of the pet. The microchip is totally inert and the pet doesn't even know its there. If the pet is lost and found by the Sheriff's Posse, veterinarian's office, animal shelter or any other concerned group, a simple quick check with the scanner will reveal the pet's unique ID number and the microchip company gives the pet's information to the group who found the pet so that the owner can be contacted and the pet reunited with their family. For more information on the AVID Microchip ID System go to www.avidmicrochip.com. Welcome to Our Newly Expanded Clinic! Due to the explosive growth of our practice, we've added a whole new section to Sun Lakes Animal Clinic! We would like to again humbly thank all of our regular clients who've supported our clinic throughout the years. Our newly expanded clinic features: 1. Twice the reception area with separate areas for dogs and cats (and some small quiet dogs). 2. Twice as many exam rooms, which means shorter wait times. 3. Another treatment center featuring another state-of-the-art treatment island. 4. More back office space for our rapidly growing staff. 5. And many more items too numerous to mention here. We look forward to welcoming you and your pet in our newly expanded facility!
The staff of Sun Lakes Animal Clinic is proud to support the creation of the Police Service Dog Monument to be displayed alongside the other monuments to Arizona's Heroes at the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix. Here's more about the Arizona Law Enforcement K-9 Memorial in our Breaking News section... Throw away your romance novels! We've got the ultimate True Love Story!... If you're looking for A LOT of veterinary information, we have OVER 100 client information articles on most of the subjects we discuss regularly here in the clinic in our Library section. Whether its heartworm disease, vaccinations, emergency topics, west Nile virus, instructions before or after surgery, internal medicine, arthritis, feline diseases, canine diseases - just about everything is in our Library section. Just click on the section titled Library in the Site Menu on the left side of this page and you'll find enough veterinary client education articles to keep you busy for quite a while!
First, we have access to AnTox which is the ASPCA's comprehensive case management and surveillance software tool that includes an instantly accessible database of over 600,000 cases of animal poisonings, an extensive treatment library and an online medical record module. Additionally it incorporates an account management system to speed critical response times by maintaining our clinic information on file at Poison Control (skips a lot of telephone red tape). Through this state of the art electronic system we simultaneously add the individual patient's case record and treatment recommendations to the patient's medical record for future reference and at the same time we add to an immediate database of cases across North America to identify trends in disease and toxin exposure and thereby modify our treatment protocols to achieve more success in treating emergency cases. Through the Veterinary Lifeline Partner Program we're now wired into a huge database of fellow health care professionals "in the trenches" and in this way Poison Control can immediately notify us if an incident warrants our attention. This could be as simple as an alert on a newly identified animal problem or as serious as a report of alleged bio- or agro-terrorism. Lastly, the information we provide during a case, and especially when we call back with follow-up details, will benefit other animals across North America and the rest of the world by enabling ASPCA Poison Control to identify trends and validate treatment protocols.
Sun Lakes Animal Clinic salutes the Grand Opening of the local Ed Robson Library which is our own local Sun Lakes branch of the Maricopa County Library system! We're glad to have had the opportunity to participate in the Grand Opening by donating 45 volumes of veterinary and pet care related books which our clients and other members of our community can check out and read over and over again. We have more about the new library Grand Opening in our breaking news section... We're proud to welcome the highly trained and dedicated folks of the Emergency Animal Rescue Team aboard our website. This group of hard working Arizona Humane Society professionals handle animal cruelty investigations and aid animals in distress We have more information about the Emergency Animal Rescue crew in our Breaking News section... Forget about Spider-Man at the movies, click here to see FOUR REAL-LIFE SUPER HEROS! Among the other new stuff on our site is the link to the article that came out in the Chandler Independent Newspaper about the new Pet Oxygen Emergency Masks at the Sun Lakes Fire Department in our Breaking News section.
