About Us...

Welcome to Sun Lakes Animal Clinic!  Located at 9670 East Riggs Road in the Sun Lakes Plaza shopping center, we've been the local veterinary clinic here since 1985. We practice veterinary internal medicine (sick dogs and cats), preventive medicine (vaccinations, heartworm prevention, dental cleaning, etc.) and routine surgery (spays, neuters, etc.) among many other things. Here at Sun Lakes Animal Clinic I'm extremely proud to work with one the finest staffs ever assembled in any veterinary facility. So without further adieu, please allow me to introduce my dear friends...

My professional colleague, Dr. Kathryn C. Linden, is one the best general practitioners plus one of the most talented surgeons I've ever known. Dr. Linden is also a very kind person and it has been my great privilege to practice alongside her for the last four years. Dr. Linden continues to be a tremendous asset to our facility and a joy to work with. My friend Dr. Kat Linden is a superb example of the professional veterinarian and all practitioners would be well to model themselves after her compassionate, caring and thorough approach to pet care. Check out Dr. Linden's wedding!...

Dr. Barbara Capwell is the latest veterinarian to join our staff and its a great honor for us to work with her. Dr. Capwell is that rare blend of a top flight intellect combined with extremely superb surgical skills combined with excellent diagnostic and treatment abilities, all in the form of a very down-to-earth, caring and compassionate person. In honor of her considerable academic achievements, Dr. Capwell is a member of the Society of Phi Zeta which is the official honor society of veterinary medicine. Fewer than 10% of practicing veterinarians can claim this distinction. Yet this person has dedicated a large portion of her professional life to aiding stray animals at several humane facilities instead of "going for the big bucks" at the big downtown hospitals. Dr. Capwell's interest in orthopedic surgery and other specialized and difficult surgical procedures plus her experience in state-of-the-art emergency medicine are a great asset to our clinic. Dr. Barbara Capwell is a caring and capable practitioner and her example of excellence is propelling us into the 21st century.

Jan Newman CVT has been my right arm and good friend since the spring of 1990, when we both came in here to see what we could do with a struggling little satellite clinic. We've certainly come a long way since then, haven't we Jan? Jan Newman is one of the finest people I've ever met. Jan's professional title, CVT, stands for Certified Veterinary Technician - its the highest paraprofessional degree you can have without actually being a vet; like our version of a registered nurse. Jan's been a CVT for over 11 years and she continues to be the "spirit and soul" of Sun Lakes Animal Clinic with her blend of professionalism combined with kindness and compassion for our patients and clients.

It is with great pride that I introduce Lindsey Olson CVT. Lindsey is quite simply the best veterinary receptionist I've ever worked with (and I've worked with quite a few in my time!). Not only is Lindsey one of the sharpest folks around, she's also full of energy and a determination to do the job right. She also happens to be one heck of a super tech and is a terrific team member in the treatment area. But we play to our strengths and we need a top flight staff member at the reception desk since the receptionist is usually the first staff member the client interacts with upon entering the veterinary clinic and also the last staff member they interact with upon leaving the facility. There is no one better at this position than Lindsey Olson CVT. Lindsey also has a great sense of humor and is a joy to work with. Check out Lindsey's wedding!

Harmony Stapley CVT is a super staff member and one of our main anchors in the treatment area, especially in the morning when procedures are zipping along fast and furious. Harmony is extremely versatile and can shift from CVT to receptionist in the blink of an eye and this is a tremendous asset to our facility. Harmony's gentle, level headed and rock solid approach to veterinary care is remarkable. Harmony is obviously a big time animal lover and it shows in her work. Besides being a super dental assistant, Harmony is also a very good ICU, pharmacy and surgery staff member.

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce Tech. Assistant, Lorie Laster. Lorie is a tremendous worker and very people and pet oriented. Her previous work experience at the Tri-City East Veterinary Hospital in Mesa has been a great asset in our busy veterinary facility as Lorie has hit the ground running. She is our an outstanding asset at our reception desk and keeps our clinic running at peak performance. Lorie's fondness for animals shows in her work.

Here comes our super Tech. Assistant, Megan Pioth. Megan is a very energetic and people oriented staff member and has already been a great team member when paired with Lorie at the front desk. Megan has an intense interest in both human and animal medicine and is currently enrolled in a college nursing curriculum where she is ranked at the top of her class. Most importantly, Megan is a very kind person and this shows in her work with the pets. So here's to Megan Pioth, our super Tech. Assistant!

Our other anchor and all around Super Tech. Assistant is Ashley Kuehn. Ashley is one of the most talented and conscientious staff members we've ever worked with. Ashley's boundless energy and enthusiasm often leaves the rest of us in the dust. Ashley is a tremendous worker, very bright and a great team player. Whether its in the exam room, laboratory, treatment area or kennels, Ashley can do it all. Ashley is also very conscientious, kind and compassionate with our patients and this makes her one of the most popular folks on our staff.

We're pleased to introduce our newest Tech. Assistant, Mackenzie Reetz. Mackenzie has extensive experience in veterinary assistance and has been a top student in biology in her pursuit of her zoology studies. She is a very kind person and her heart is in the right place. Mackenzie is a very dedicated and energetic staff member.

Oh...and who am I? I'm just the lucky guy who gets to work with this world class super staff!
